What Is a Fixed Roof Pergola?
A fixed roof pergola is an outdoor overhead structure built on a non-retractable frame — the roof does not open, tilt, or slide, which is what separates it from louvered and retractable canopy systems.
Each solid roof panel sits permanently over the frame, held by structural bolts rated for the dead load of the chosen roofing material. Because Dubai's summer ambient temperatures regularly exceed 45 °C, we specify aluminium alloys and powder coatings that resist the thermal expansion cycles temperate-climate materials cannot tolerate. Frame profiles are typically 100 mm × 100 mm or larger, depending on span, and footings must be engineered for Dubai's fine sandy and sabkha soil rather than standard compacted-ground specs.
